Parisar Privacy Policy
Effective date: 1 November 2026
Operator: IntelAct Private Limited, 102, Shri Sharan 2, Opp. Anand Niketan School, Shilaj, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 380059
1. About this policy
This policy explains what personal data Parisar collects, why, who can see it, where it goes, how long it is kept, and what you can do about it.
It covers four products:
- Parisar, the resident app for Android.
- Parisar Guard, the gate app used by a society's security staff.
- The committee web portal at app.parisar.co.in, used by the managing committee, the accountant and the society office.
- Our website at parisar.co.in.
Parisar is available only on Android, through Google Play. There is no iPhone app.
It is for residents, committee members, society staff, security guards and visitors to our website — and for people who never use Parisar but whose details are entered into it, such as visitors to a society, domestic help and family members. Section 4 is written for them.
This policy is in English. If we publish it in another language and the two differ, the English text applies.
In this policy, "we" and "us" mean IntelAct Private Limited. "Your society" means the housing society, RWA or building that uses Parisar.
2. Who is responsible for your data
Two parties handle your data: your society and us.
Your society is responsible for the society's records. Acting through its managing committee, the society decides which members are recorded, which bills are raised, which registers are kept and what its gate records. For these records your society is the "Data Fiduciary" under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and we handle them only on the society's instructions. They include:
- member and unit records, and the society's statutory registers (members, shares, nominations);
- bills, receipts, ledgers and payment records;
- complaints, notices, polls, elections, meetings and events;
- community wall posts and marketplace listings;
- visitor, delivery, domestic-help, vehicle, parking and move records at the gate;
- SOS alerts, and blood group and medical notes.
We are responsible for a small set of data. We are the Data Fiduciary for:
- your Parisar login: your name, email address, phone number, sign-in codes, and the record of your agreement to this policy;
- device and security data: push-notification tokens and server logs;
- enquiries sent through our website, and messages you send us from the app or the portal.
Where to go. For records your society keeps, contact your society's committee or office. You can also write to us (section 19); we pass requests about society records to the society and help it respond.
3. What the resident app collects
Your account (required)
- Name, email address and phone number — to set up your account, send your sign-in code, and let the society office contact you.
- How you sign in. You enter your phone number and we email you a 6-digit code. Your email address is your identity in Parisar; your phone number is used only to find your account. We do not send codes by SMS.
- Your society, building and unit, and your link to the unit (owner, co-owner, tenant or family member) — so the app shows you the right bills, notices and passes.
- Your agreement. When you sign up we record that you agreed to our terms and this policy, which version (by its effective date), and a keyed, non-reversible code derived from your network address.
Profile (optional)
- Profile photo, visible to your society.
- Personal details you choose to add, such as gender, date of birth, occupation and permanent address.
- Directory privacy. Where your society lets residents see the member list, others see your name and unit. Your phone number, email and photo stay hidden unless you choose to show them (Settings → Profile → Directory privacy).
Membership documents
When you ask to join a society, you upload a property document: a sale deed or Index-2 if you own the unit, a rent agreement if you rent it. You may also add a share certificate, NOC or other property document later. These documents are used only to check who owns or rents the unit, and only your society's office sees them. A sale deed, Index-2, sale agreement or rent agreement is deleted 90 days after you leave the unit, or 30 days after the society turns down your request to join. If you upload a replacement, the earlier copy is deleted at once. A share certificate or NOC stays with the society's records.
Parisar does not collect Aadhaar or PAN numbers, and does not accept identity documents such as Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, passports, voter IDs or police-verification certificates. Please do not upload them.
Bills and payments
- Bills, receipts and your ledger, which the society keeps as its accounts.
- UPI payments. You pay the society's own UPI ID from your own UPI app, by scanning a QR code or entering the UPI ID. Parisar records only the amount and the UPI transaction reference (UTR) you type in. The society office checks the UTR against its bank statement. Parisar never sees your UPI ID, bank account or card.
- Card and netbanking payments, only if your society turns them on — entered on Razorpay's own screens. We receive a payment ID and whether it succeeded.
- Facility bookings and festival passes you buy, and payments for them.
Your household and the gate (optional)
- Family members of your unit: name, relationship, and optionally blood group and medical notes. A family member aged 18 or over can be given their own login.
- Emergency contact: the name, relationship and phone number of someone to call in an emergency.
- Vehicles: details and, if you add it, a photo of the registration certificate. If you report a vehicle parked wrongly in your space, we record its number and your photo of it, and tell its owner.
- Pets, if you add them.
- Domestic help you register: name, phone number, photo and category, and their attendance at the gate.
- Visitor passes you create: the visitor's name, phone number, purpose and time window. You can type them in or pick one contact from your phone (see section 7).
- Parcels, deliveries and material passes (goods going in or out), and move-in and move-out dates you schedule.
- Intercom calls between you and the gate, or a committee member: who called, which unit, when, whether it was answered and how long it lasted. The call itself is app to app: neither side is sent the other's phone number. The sound goes between the two phones through Agora (section 11), encrypted with a key Agora does not have. Neither we nor Agora record it.
Only add another person's details if they know about it. Section 4 explains their rights.
Society life (optional)
- Complaints, with photos and voice notes, and comments on them.
- Polls. In an anonymous poll nobody can see how you voted. In other polls, your society's committee can.
- Elections. Your ballot is stored without your name; a separate register records only that you voted, so nobody votes twice.
- Community wall posts, comments and marketplace listings, which other residents of your society can see. If you post anonymously, other residents do not see your name, but Parisar still records who posted so that reports can be handled. You can report a post or block a person; reported posts go to a review queue for the committee.
- Event sign-ups, meeting notices and documents your society shares.
Emergency (optional)
- SOS location. Your location is read once, when you press SOS, and added to the alert a few seconds after the alarm goes out — the alarm never waits for it. The app does not track you or use your location in the background.
- Blood group and medical notes are blank unless you fill them in. This is health data; section 10 explains who sees it.
Messages you send us (optional)
- "Something isn't working." If you write to us from the app or the portal, we keep your message, the screen you were on, the app version and your phone's make, model and Android version, so we can look into it and reply to you in the app.
Device and technical (automatic)
- Push-notification token, and whether your app version can ring for gate visitors.
- Server logs: technical details of each request, including your network address, kept for security and to keep the service running.
- Screen counts, only when we switch them on. We count how many times each screen of the app and the portal is opened each day, as totals for each society. The totals carry no name, account number or network address. So that each person is counted once a day, your app sends a code made from the day and your account with a key only our server holds, and every such code is deleted that night. You can stop your own screens being counted with the "Help improve Parisar" switch, at Settings → Help & Support → Something isn't working.
4. People who do not use Parisar
Parisar holds data about some people who do not have an account.
Visitors to a society. At the gate a guard may record your name, phone number, a photograph taken at the gate, vehicle number, purpose, the unit you are visiting, and your entry and exit times, together with the resident's decision to let you in. A resident may also create a pass for you in advance. When you are waiting at the gate, the resident's phone shows your name on its lock screen (section 10), and your name passes through our push-notification providers (section 11). Visitor entries and photos are kept for the period your society sets, then deleted automatically.
Domestic help. A resident, the society office or a guard may record your name, phone number, photo and category, and guards record your attendance. Parisar keeps one daily-help profile per phone number across the societies that use it: if you already work at another society on Parisar, a new society adding you sees your existing name, photo and category. Within a society, approved profiles appear in its local help directory.
Family members and emergency contacts. A resident may record your name and your relationship to them, or your name and phone number as their emergency contact.
Your rights. Your society is responsible for this data. You can ask your society's office to show you what it holds about you, correct it or delete it, or write to us (section 19) and we will pass your request to the society. Some records must be kept for a period set by law (section 13).
5. Gate staff (Parisar Guard)
If you are a guard using Parisar Guard, the app records your name and phone number, an identifier for the phone paired to the gate, and the entries you make: visitors, deliveries and parcels, domestic-help attendance, moves, parking violations, incident reports with photos, patrol checkpoints, and SOS alerts with location. Intercom calls you make or answer are recorded the same way as a resident's (section 3): who, which unit, when and how long, never the sound. Your society is responsible for this data.
6. Our website and the committee web portal
Quote requests. If you ask for a quote on parisar.co.in, we collect your name, email address, mobile number, society name, city and message, and a keyed, non-reversible code derived from your network address to limit abuse of the form.
Visit statistics. If switched on, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits. It does not use cookies.
Committee web portal. You sign in with your email address and password. The portal uses session cookies to keep you signed in. They are strictly necessary and are not used for tracking. When screen counts are switched on (section 3), the portal's pages are counted the same way.
7. Phone permissions
The resident app asks for each permission only when you use the feature that needs it.
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Camera | To take a photo in the app, for example for a complaint or your profile |
| Photos | To choose an existing photo |
| Contacts | Only when you tap "pick from contacts" on a visitor pass. The app then reads the one contact you choose, to fill in the name and number. It does not read or upload the rest of your address book |
| Location, while the app is in use | For SOS only |
| Microphone | To record voice notes on complaints, and to talk on intercom calls |
| Notifications | To alert you about visitors, bills and notices |
| Full-screen notifications | To show a visitor at the gate, or an intercom call from the gate, over your lock screen like an incoming call |
You can refuse any permission; the feature that needs it will not work. You can change permissions later in your phone's settings.
8. Why we use your data
We use personal data to set up your account and let you sign in; show you the right bills, notices and passes; help your society run its accounts, registers, complaints, notices, polls, elections and bookings; manage entry at the gate; send SOS alerts; record payments to the society; send you alerts; keep Parisar secure and working; see which parts of Parisar are used, so we know what to improve; and reply to website enquiries and messages you send us.
We rely on:
- Your consent, which you give when you sign up and when you choose to add optional data such as a photo or medical notes;
- uses the law allows without separate consent, such as data you give for a purpose, medical emergencies, and compliance with the law or a court order; and
- your society's legal duties to keep accounts and registers under co-operative law.
9. What we do not do
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not show advertising. The apps and the portal contain no advertising or third-party analytics tools. The only counting is Parisar's own screen counts (section 3), and only when they are switched on.
- We do not send marketing messages. We send only service messages: sign-in codes, bills, receipts, society notices, visitor and SOS alerts, replies to messages you send us, and important notices about Parisar.
- We do not use AI services to process residents' data.
- We do not collect Aadhaar or PAN numbers or identity documents.
- We do not track your location in the background.
- We do not read or upload your address book.
- We do not see your UPI ID, bank account or card details.
10. Who can see your information
- Your society's committee, accountant and office, according to the role your society gives each person.
- Your society's gate staff: visitor passes and gate records for your unit, your unit number, and the names of the people registered in it (so a guard can see who an intercom call will ring). When you call the gate, the guard sees your name and unit. Gate staff never see your phone number through the intercom, and you never see theirs.
- During an SOS for your unit, your society's gate staff and administrators see the whole alert: what kind it is, your unit, who raised it and their phone number, what they typed, the location, and your blood group, medical notes and emergency contact. Residents who have chosen to receive SOS alerts see only that an SOS is active and how it is being handled; for a fire, an earthquake, a thief, an animal or visitor threat, or someone stuck in a lift, they also see what it is and your unit. They never see who raised it, the location, the health notes or what was typed.
- Other residents of your society: what you post on the community wall and the marketplace, and your name and unit where the society shows a member list (section 3, Directory privacy).
- Anyone near your phone. When a visitor is waiting at the gate, or the gate calls your unit on the intercom, your phone may turn its screen on and show the visitor's or caller's name over the lock screen, like an incoming call. Nothing else is shown, and answering needs the phone unlocked. Turning off Parisar notifications in your phone's settings stops this, but you will then miss gate alerts.
- Our service providers, listed in section 11, who act for us.
- Government bodies and courts, when the law requires it.
Each society's data is kept separate; people in other societies cannot see it. The one exception is a domestic helper's shared profile, described in section 4.
11. Service providers and where data is processed
Each provider acts on our behalf and receives only what it needs.
| Provider | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Render | Runs our application servers | Singapore |
| Supabase | Hosts our database | Mumbai, India |
| Vercel | Hosts the committee web portal and these legal pages | Not fixed; may be outside India |
| Cloudflare | Stores photos and documents; runs our DNS; optional cookieless visit statistics | Global network |
| Brevo | Sends our emails: sign-in codes, bills, receipts and notices | European Union (France) |
| Expo | Relays push notifications. It receives your phone's push token and each notification's title, text and data, such as a visitor's name | USA |
| Google Firebase Cloud Messaging | Delivers push notifications to Android phones | Global |
| Agora | Carries the sound of intercom calls between two phones. It receives the phones' network addresses, a numeric account id and a call id. The sound is encrypted with a key Agora does not have, and is not recorded | India (the apps connect only to Agora's servers in India) |
| Razorpay | Processes card and netbanking payments, only where your society turns them on | India |
| Sentry | Error monitoring, when switched on; personal data is removed from error reports first | European Union (Germany) |
Data sent outside India. Your data may be processed in Singapore, the European Union (France and Germany), the USA, and wherever Cloudflare, Google and Vercel operate. Our database is in India. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act allows transfers outside India unless the Government restricts transfers to a particular country.
We do not use an SMS provider.
12. How we protect your data
- All connections to Parisar use HTTPS.
- Access inside a society depends on the role the society gives each person.
- Each society's data is kept separate from other societies' data.
- Sign-in codes expire and are single-use; sign-in sessions are stored only as one-way hashes.
- Network addresses in consent records and website enquiries are stored only as keyed, non-reversible codes.
No system is completely secure. Section 18 explains what happens if something goes wrong.
13. How long we keep data
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Your account | Until you delete it, or your society removes you |
| A sale deed, Index-2, sale agreement or rent agreement you upload | 90 days after you leave the unit; 30 days after the society turns down your request to join; an earlier copy as soon as you upload a replacement |
| A share certificate or NOC you upload | As long as the society keeps its member records |
| Bills, receipts, ledgers, registers and meeting records | As long as co-operative law requires the society to keep them |
| Visitor entries and gate photos | For the period your society sets, then deleted automatically |
| Complaints, votes, wall posts, marketplace listings, SOS alerts | While your society uses Parisar, unless deleted earlier |
| Blood group and medical notes copied onto an SOS alert, so responders see them | 30 days after the alert is resolved |
| Intercom call records (who, when, how long; never the sound) | While your society uses Parisar |
| Messages you send us from the app or the portal | While your society uses Parisar |
| Screen counts | Daily totals, which identify nobody, while Parisar runs; the codes used to count each person once a day are deleted every night |
| Website enquiries | Until the enquiry is closed |
| Server logs | 7 days |
| Backups of the database | Daily copies for 35 days, monthly copies for 13 months. Something deleted from Parisar stays in older backups until they expire |
14. Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app, at Settings → Delete account, or as described at parisar.co.in/delete-account.
When you delete your account, we:
- remove your name, phone number, email address and profile photo from your login, and close it;
- remove the blood group, medical notes and emergency contact you added, and your photo, from your membership records, and the copies of your blood group and medical notes on SOS alerts that are over (an SOS still open keeps them for its responders, until 30 days after it is resolved);
- archive your membership of every unit;
- sign you out on every device and stop notifications to your phones.
What stays. Your society must keep its financial and statutory records under co-operative law: bills, receipts, ledgers, registers (including your name, unit, shares and nominations as a member) and meeting records. These stay with the society. Complaints, posts, vehicles and household records you created stay with the society's records too; ask your society's office if you want them removed.
15. If your society stops using Parisar
Your society is responsible for its records. If it stops using Parisar, we give it a copy of its records to download, and then delete the society's data from Parisar within 90 days, except where the law requires us to keep it. Residents' logins for that society stop working. The society must keep its own copy of records that co-operative law requires it to keep.
16. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access a summary of your personal data, what is done with it, and who it has been shared with;
- correct and update wrong or incomplete data;
- erase data that is no longer needed, unless the law requires it to be kept;
- withdraw consent — this does not affect what was done before, and some features may stop working;
- nominate a person to use these rights for you if you die or become unable to act;
- complain, to us or your society, and then to the Data Protection Board of India.
How. Most of your profile can be changed in the app at Settings → Profile. You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it: remove optional details you added, turn off a permission in your phone's settings, or delete your account (section 14). For society records, ask your society's office, or write to us. People without an account can use these rights through their society or by writing to us. We may need to confirm who you are before acting on a request.
17. Children
Parisar logins are only for people aged 18 or over; signing in confirms that you are. A parent or lawful guardian living in the unit may record a child as a family member, with the child's name and relationship. By doing so they confirm they are the child's parent or lawful guardian and agree to this. We do not show advertising to anyone.
18. Data breaches
If a breach affects personal data in Parisar, we will tell your society without delay. The society and we will inform the Data Protection Board of India and the people affected as the law requires, and we will report the incident to CERT-In as the law requires.
19. Contact and grievances
Grievance Officer: Jaimin Maheshbhai Thakkar, IntelAct Private Limited, 102, Shri Sharan 2, Opp. Anand Niketan School, Shilaj, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 380059
Email: support@parisar.co.in
We acknowledge a grievance within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India. For everyday help that is not about privacy, write to the same address.
20. The law that applies
This policy is written to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, which come into force in stages, together with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it.
21. Changes to this policy
We will post any change on this page with a new effective date, and tell you by email or in the app before a change that matters to how your data is used takes effect.
